Granary Gallery Re-opening from 8 August

Granary Gallery Re-opening from 8 August

We are delighted to announce that the Granary Gallery will be re-opening from 8-23  August with another opportunity to view Yvonne Parr’s exhibition ‘Heaven, Hell and Earth’

We’ll be open our usual hours of 11am-4pm Wednesday to Sunday and look forward to welcoming visitors back to the gallery.

In order to safely re-open have carried out risk assessments for visitors and staff and these are regularly reviewed to take into account the latest guidance from the government and Public Health England in relation to Covid-19.

This means that during this initial opening period we will be trialling a number of new procedures for visitors –

Please don’t visit the gallery if you are showing Covid-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has coronavirus, and follow NHS coronavirus guidelines.

Visitors will not need to book a specific timeslot to visit the gallery, however in line with government guidance we will request your contact details when entering the gallery.

  • Your details will only be kept for 21 days and we will only share them with NHS Test and Trace if asked, in the event of a fellow visitor testing positive for coronavirus.

Entrance and exit of the Gallery will only be via the entrance from Berwick Town Walls.

Initially our visitor toilets will be closed.

Hand sanitisers will be available for use when visitors enter and exit the gallery.

Visitors must wear a face covering in the gallery.

There will be a one-way system in place for movement around the gallery.

Visitors will be requested to follow current social distancing guidance when in the gallery.

There will be limited capacity in the gallery at any one time. If the gallery reaches maximum capacity, gallery staff will advise visitors to wait in the lobby area until other visitors leave.

Gallery staff will be undertaking increased cleaning procedures throughout the day including door handles and other surfaces.

Gallery staff will be wearing PPE equipment including Face Visors and / or mask.

We are currently trialling these new safety measures and welcome your feedback. Please speak to the member of staff on duty when you visit or email berwickvisualarts@maltingsberwick.co.uk

The Gymnasium Gallery and Maltings Theatre continue to be closed until further notice. You can donate to our re-opening campaign here
